The Board of your PORT LARGO RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY OWNER’S ASSOCIATION invites you to attend our Annual Meeting on February 9, 2002 at 10:30 AM at the Key Largo Civic Club, 209 Ocean Bay Drive.  We will have speakers and will discuss issues and ongoing projects which affect our neighborhood.  We want to hear your concerns and ideas about Port Largo!  Join us, and invite your neighbor!

GUEST SPEAKERS - Murray Nelson, Our County Commissioner for District 5.
John Wood, Vice President of our association/Homeowner’s park

Dues for 2002 will remain at $100 and new entry cards for the Homeowner’s park will be available at our Annual Meeting.  You may mail in your membership form or you may contact Frances Simmons at 451-1790 or Ann Nickerson at 451-2604.  Frances and Ann request that you call before coming to pick up your card.  We  request that if you live here, you make the effort to pick up your card rather than ask that it be mailed to you.  The park lock will be changed on February 23rd, so be sure to pick up your new card before that date!

We will be holding elections for the Board of Directors of our Association.  Volunteers are needed for board vacancies and for various committees.  Please contact a board member if you are willing to serve your community.  Nominations from the floor are also welcomed and encouraged.  To date, the following members have indicated they are willing to serve on our board:

Frances Simmons                         Mary Nelson                         Edwina Lindeman                 Cara Smith

Ann Nickerson                             Karen Sebastian                   Glenn Patton

Our SIXTH ANNUAL FISHING TOURNAMENT will be held Saturday, April 27, 2002, weather permitting.  Our tournament is open to several species and designed to encourage family fun, neighborhood involvement, and participation by all age groups; from the pee-wee category to the experienced angler.  Look for entry forms and information at our Annual Meeting!  If you have questions, contact John Trejo, Tournament Chairman at 451-3527.  Remember, you must be a member of our association to participate in this tournament.  What’s that? - - you’re not a member??  Call Frances at 451-1790 and she’ll get you hooked up!!  Applications will also be mailed out with our March Newsletter.  On the following day, Sunday, April 28, 2002 at 2:00 PM, our ANNUAL PICNIC will be held at our Homeowner’s Park.  Soft drinks, beer, ice, hot dogs and charcoal will be provided by the association. Hopefully, we’ll have fish donated from our tournament to fry along with hushpuppies again this year.  Bring a covered dish and a chair - and enjoy a great day with your neighbors!  Everyone is welcome!  Mark your calendar now with these dates!

We would like everyone in our community to receive our Newsletter.  It’s a challenge to keep up with all the new owners.  You can help by letting us know about additions or corrections to our mailing list (new residents, address changes, phone numbers, etc.).  Please call Mary Nelson at 451-9316 with any new information.
