PLRPOA Board Meeting Minutes - Dec 4, 2003 |
The board meeting of Port Largo Residential Property Owner’s Association was held at the home of Frances Simmons. Present were board members: Annette Richard, Glenn Patton, Frances Simmons, Ann Nickerson and Mary Nelson.
The meeting was called to order at 7:35 PM by Glenn Patton.
I. Minutes from the November meeting were read by Mary Nelson and were approved as read.
II. The Treasurer’s report was read by Frances Simmons and approved as read.
III. HOMEOWNERS PARK GATE
a. Reprogram cards Glenn reports that the card reader is repaired and suggests to Frances that she order more cards.
b. Dock improvements Glenn requests an article in our January newsletter explaining that a proposal to improve our boat dock will be presented at our annual meeting followed by a general membership vote to approve or disapprove the proposal.
IV. BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE
Barbara Brown is out of town due to her mother’s illness. This item is tabled until our January meeting.
V. FISHING TOURNAMENT
a. Glenn reports that youth should be selected by February.
b. Glenn will meet with John Trejo to determine plan and timing for youth leadership, newsletter and annual meeting. Our board agrees to consider a guarantee for Youth Leadership award.
VI. JANUARY NEWSLETTER
The proposed articles for our January are: Crime Watch Report; Citizen of the Year (David Lindeman); Mike O’Connor’s letter of appreciation for living in this community; President’s letter; Draft of boat ramp improvements; Speaker for annual meeting – Mayor Murray Nelson, Mayor of Monroe County (the first Mayor from our district in fourteen years); Just4Kids Garage Sale report; articles “in memoriam” for C. W. Waldorf, Bill Brown, Hank Gartner.
VII. ANNUAL MEETING COMMITTEE
Our meeting will be held Saturday, February 14, 2004 at the Civic Club; speaker – Mayor Murray Nelson on the topic of his choice.
VIII. CHRISTMAS DECORATING CONTEST
Mary will call or email Sue Cunningham for a report so the information will be included in our newsletter.
IX. FEDERATION REPORT
Glenn reported that the Skate Board Park is in progress adjacent to our community park.
X. NEW BUSINESS
a. Glenn reminded us all of a cocktail party in his home on Dec. 6, 2003.
b. Cara smith has officially resigned from our board in an email to Glenn Patton explaining they are relocating. Annette Richard also advised that they have a closing for the sale of their home in January and she will be resigning as well.
c. Our next meeting will be held January 8th (and not the first Thursday which would be New Year’s Day), 2004.
Our meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM.
Our next meeting will be held at 7:30 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2004 at the home of Frances Simmons.
