III. OLD BUSINESS
a. Homeowner’s Park Report: Glenn Patton re-programmed the gate operating system for Daylight Savings Time and repaired a sign which had fallen. Bushwackers had cleaned the park and boat ramp on October 17; she has the three new garbage cans now. Ann Nickerson mentioned overgrown mangroves; Glenn Patton will ask about a perennial permit and advise the board. We are all in agreement it would be a good idea to look into a way to prevent erosion of our beach sand.
b. Homeowner’s Park Painting party This work party for repainting our pavilion, tables, etc. at our homeowner’s park is re-scheduled for Sunday, December 8, 2002 between 12 noon and 4 PM. Pat McLaughlin will ask his wife to select colors and will email this info to board members.
c. County purchase of Quay property: Glenn Patton has been working with the Federation on this issue and has prepared documentation with information regarding use of this property. Our community supports a community center. Our board re-evaluated our position and estimated that 75 – 80% of our homeowners are in favor of this purchase. He asks us to get petitions in to our commissioners and to request homeowners to send emails stating their position to all commissioners before the BOCC meeting on Wednesday. Everyone who can attend should be at the meeting by the time certain; Nov 20, 1:30 PM.
d. Homeowner’s Park – Gate timer lightning protection Glenn Patton will check on this and advise this board.
e. Homeowner’s Park – opening and closing hours: Pat McLaughlin will draft a proposal; park hours will remain the same however hours will be extended for boat launching and retrieval only. Our board will look at approving this at our December meeting for presentation and a general membership vote at our annual meeting. If approved, this item will be included on our website and in our January newsletter.
